The Amish Have a Good Idea in Shunning

We need to politely listen to ideas opposing our own, without denegrating others' ideas. However, we have a problem...
If you really want to know who's ruining this country, look to the demagogues -- the Limbaughs the Glenn Becks -- those who purposefully take misinformation and pass it on as truth. And those who take an inspirational speech and turn it into their own slanted, political agenda. Their intolerance and fear mongering are tearing us apart. Obama's biggest fault is continuing to believe these people have a moral center. As a nation, we need to cease in giving these people our attention. In short: Ignore and Shun.

I wish all of these people who were so concerned about indoctrination of children had been around when I was in school. Every single year we had speakers come talk to us about their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Talk about indoctrinating kids!!!

You're so right about this Kathy. Personally, I don't know anyone who listens to these guys. I don't know why anyone would.

Such a wonderful idea Kathy. Sam and I were talking about this very thing yesterday. Those people are being given too much power, too many people listen to them and begin to think they know what they are talking about. I just don't get it. Why people are so afraid to say, "I don't agree with you, you're wrong, thank you but go stand over there". Or better yet, as you sayd Ignore and Shun!

I'm totally ignorant about that aspect of US politics (I have enough trouble with ours!) but I wanted to know how your hand is, Kathy?

Ignore and shun. This could be the start of a new trend. Much better than endless rhetoric or shouting.

The problem is that there are too many people who are intolerant and who believe that their opinions and views are the only valid ones. Seems like the extreme right has gotten very vocal with their lies and misinformation.
