First Day of Fall and I'm Whining

It's five days after the carpal tunnel release and am in the same blue funk I was at this stage after the first one. Everything is a chore -- washing my face, brushing my hair, getting dressed, completing the simplest of tasks. My right hand is at about 85% -- a little pain, but mostly lack of strength. I'm working on that, though and have opted not to do the physical therapy as I have 100% range of motion. Better to leave the therapy spots to someone who really needs it.
Yesterday I drove to Costco, bought a few things and then put gas in my car. It took a little longer to wrestle with the cart and juggle the gas pump and credit card, but I did it and it felt good to get out.
Well, daughter just called and she thinks I should go to the gym with her. I think she's right -- although it will take me about an hour just to get my sports bra on -- got to harness the girls! Better get started...

It must have felt good to get alittle yesterday. I'm glad you don't have standard transmission.
Good luck getting dressed for the gym. You'll feel better once you are there.

Glad you're making progress. Good to be active, but don't overdue it trying to recover too quickly either.

You sound like me - absolutely no patience when I'm not 100%. I can take not feeling well for two days at the most. After that, I get really aggravated with everything.
Things will be better soon.
I'll be thinking about you.

Hope you soon get back all your strength. It takes time! Just do what you can, and then a LITTLE more each day!

And get out into the world, don't sit indoors and maunder!

It sounds like you are making progress.

Have your husband help you with your daily grooming needs. Think of the fun.

I still have a welt the size of Mt Rushmore on my bum. Unbelievable.

Off to the gym I go. Have an awesome day.

I always get in a blue funk when I'm recovering from something but still not where I want to be. Sending you hugs. I hope the gym got your endorphins going and lifted your mood.

Thank you for your comment the other day. I'm working on my perspective. :-)

You might be in a funk but you have a great sense of humor. The chemicals they put into your body, whether it's just a general anaesthetic or something morte affect mood adversely so that's probably not helping you. I think getting out and doing things is a good idea even if they take a little longer than normal

On to more important things...you have a cousin in Florence...get thee there! But seriously that's a perfect reason to go to Florence. I see long-distance travel in your near future!
