I am a retired English teacher and department head, the mother of three grand mother of four, and have been married to the same man for 52 years. I subscribe to Dr. PM Forni's concept of Civility. I was born in South Philadelphia and grew up in the 'burbs. I love soft pretzels and cheesesteaks, the Phillies, the Eagles, and San Diego. I love being Mom, Aunt Kathy, Nona Kathy, and Teacher. I spend a lot of time in my gardens in the spring and summer, and in the winter I plan what I'm going to plant. I also am an avid reader and photographer.

My Other Sunshine...

I didn't have this photo yesterday or I would have posted it, too. This is my older grand daughter (my son's daughter)(the baby is my daughter's daughter) in her new uniform, on her way to her first day in her new school.

Yes, I believe that both girls look a lot like me -- poor babies!-- or at least Arianos. Those genes are really strong. And both girls look a lot like each other -- we can't tell their baby pics apart.

She is cute! I'm glad to see her school has a uniform, I think its good when all school kids have to wear a uniform, it just looks more tidy. Anyway, enough on that.

The day after I graduated from high school I became an advocate of school uniforms for all schools. Public and private. I also became an advocate for going to school year round. ;-)
