Gorillas in the Mist and a Wedding

When I published the last post, I guess I was still feeling down. I hadn't realized it at the time -- thinking the photo I took of the gorilla was funny and fitting. But after reading the comments you all have posted, I think I was a little blue. Well, blessedly, these things pass with me and things are getting back to normal. The stitches come out and the dressing comes off on Wednesday and again I'll be able to wash both hands! Hoorah for simple pleasures and the blessings of caring friends. Thank you.

Yesterday, we attended my niece's wedding in Willow Street, PA (near Lancaster/Millersville where my husband and I went to school and met). My brothers (the younger brother and father of the bride, lives in Mississippi, and the youngest brother in Georgia) and I always have a good time when we're together. We have the propensity to find EVERYTHING funny (much to the chagrin to those around us). The baby and my daughters danced their heads off (my girls are both so shy and demure (like their mother)) as did my 84 year old mom. The bride looked beautiful and the only glitch was the cake. Karen had wanted chocolate covered strawberries on the cake and instead of placing partially dipped strawberries around the three tiers of the cake, the bakery piled the totally dipped strawberries on top. Yes, it looked amazingly like poop. Into each event a little rain falls...:)

I'm glad you're feeling better. I missed your previous post (we're working on a very time-consuming project and I haven't read anyone's posts), and I'm sorry I wasn't able to offer one of those supportive comments when you needed it.

The story about the strawberries is funny. I hope your niece wasn't too disappointed.

Glad you're feeling better and that you had so much fun at the wedding. You would think the bakery would know how to put chocolate dipped strawberries on a cake. For the couple it will be something to talk about for years to come

Were you well behaved, as planned? Was it hard?

Glad you got to have fun with your family. Weddings can be so much fun!

Was there a bar? Cause I wouldn't have gone if there wasn't a bar. And the chocolate dipped strawberries would be cool until you said they looked like poop. Then I wouldn't be able to eat any. LOL

Congratulations on getting your cast off.

I love music and your list. I know many of them. I have also sung Handel's Massiah many times. The book is on my book shelf.
I sang in the Disney cast choir in their Christmas program for years. Loved it and miss it.

One of my new favorites is Wild at Heart by Gloriana. What a great song.
