BOOOO!

Every day for the past two weeks this is what faced us as we walked in the door.  Why??  Because since the costume's arrival, the baby, now 18 months old, upon seeing it, would run, arms akimbo, screaming in terror from the room.  We thought that leaving it on the chair (and I admit it, wearing it on my head whenever I played with her) would get her used to it. As back-up, we had an Eagle's cheerleading outfit on stand-by.

And it worked.  Here is the whole family on Halloween.

Okay, she doesn't looked thrilled, but at least the terror is gone.  Notice her hand on her brother's hat.  She kept pulling his hat off and hitting him with it!

Here she and her step-brother, Indiana Jones, pose for us...

On another note, in Atlanta, my brother Jay, his wife NB, NB's sister and BIL prepare for a costume party.  (You can tell we're a shy and demure family.)  I'll post the pictures of the four of them as KISS soon.  (Extortion some convincing required!)

Too funny! I love the kiddie costumes, and Gene Simmons - well looks just like Gene Simmons! Hope you have a fun day and evening.

Love the costumes. Great idea to leave the costume out so she would get used to it.

LOL ! I cannot wait to see the entire KISS group! That picture is priceless!

I am glad your granddaughter agreed to wear ZElmo because she looks adorable! So smart of you all to leave the costume out for her to see every day. My young cousis went through some similar problems with Halloween costumes. Indiana Jones is a cutie, too. He looks so sweet with his siter, the rather violent Elmo! lol (just teasing!0

Thanks for the great photos!

Those costumes (all of them) are great! It was so HARD to come up with good halloween costumes when my kids were growing up..might have had something to do with how poor I was then.

Hope your weekend has been great. :)

I can see why your granddaughter was a bit scared of the costume - glad she got used to it and wore it, because she looks adorable. So does Indiana Jones. I wouldn't call your brother adorable, however. He is more hilarious. Can't wait to see more pictures!

I was really smart of you to get your grandbaby used to that costume. She looked adorable!

We weren't quite so savvy about costume terrors. When KT was tiny she burst into tears when she saw that she had been transformed into a pumpkin. Oops...

No, she doesn't look exactly thrilled about it, but I like her method of releasing that negative energy. Beating on a sibling always makes one feel better.

Your brother is either very brave or very foolish to just hand you ammo like that!

What a clever idea to desensitize her. Both kids look great. As for the KISS costume . . . I'm wondering where he got all those clothes!
