Some months ago I posted on memories evoked by my hearing the song "The 59th Street Bridge", and of a good friend whom I had not seen since the day we graduated from high school. Several of you suggested that maybe Steve and I would meet up again -- perhaps at a reunion. Frankly, knowing how our class was and how scattered everyone is, I highly doubted we would ever see or speak to one another again.
The 40th reunion of the Upper Darby (the same high school of Jim Croce and Tina Fey (and the home of Cheri Oteri)) graduating class of 1969 was held earlier this month. I didn't attend , but Steve did and gave a friend of mine his address. The first question he asked me was, "Do you remember singing "The 59th Street Bridge" with me?" Little did he know! :)

I taught in both middle and high schools as I really love teens and in-betweens. I was also a certified Lamaze instructor, and for a short time a volunteer chaplain at Howard County General Hospital. I love soft pretzels and cheesesteaks, the Phillies, the Eagles, the Orioles, and sometimes the Ravens. I love being Mom, Aunt Kathy, Nona Kathy (Kath), and Teacher. I spend a lot of time in my gardens in the spring and summer, and in the winter I plan what I'm going to plant. I also am an avid reader, cook, photographer, lover of languages, music, and four-footed furries.

We sang that song all the time when I was in Young Life in high school. I never knew the title before. I used to sing it to Emily all the time when she was little. It brings so many memories to me.

I love that song! Now you are going to make me pull out S&G and play it, along with their other songs. I LOVE them, and will never stop loving their music. Once in a while I see Paul Simon on tv (pbs), and my eyes and ears are glued. For all the concerts I went to, I regret never seeing them in a live performance.
