I've always loved Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day. The night has always seemed magical to me. So here we are. In just a few hours, the madness will cease and we'll be able to get a parking space at the grocery stores and malls; what's not done remains so.
It will be quiet here tonight. A couple of neighbors will join us for a Christmas drink and some baked brie en croute and a few other snacks. We spent the day watching the baby while her mother ran a few errands. Tomorrow we'll visit (carrying warm sticky buns and gifts) with our son and daughter-in-law and grandchild, and then with daughter and her family. We'll be joined by my husband's parents. At least that's the plan -- weather may interfere yet once more as they're calling for freezing rain. If this is the case we're not going anywhere and I'll eat myself into a sticky bun coma. It'll be just the two of us for Christmas dinner -- I'm fixing shrimp and grits -- our favorite. Tomorrow afternoon we'll pack our bags and on Saturday head South for a week. I expect Florida to have record low temperatures, because that's just the kind of girl I am and because I plan to leave my coat in the car.
On nights like tonight, I think of all those who are working...firefighters, police, doctors, nurses, caregivers, and clergy and I send special blessings and prayers their way. I think of those who don't have enough to eat, those who suffer from loneliness or illness and my heart and prayers go to them as well. And to you, dear friends, I send blessings for peace and love. Merry Christmas, Kathy

Merry Christmas Kathy.
The weather down here is nice and toasty. So much for cold weather. My wusband and I went grocery shopping, then took my bike out for a ride. The rain never materialized. tonight we are going to church as a family. A really nice candlelight service at 11 pm at a big Methodist church in Ft. Lauderdale. My daughters pick.
Tomorrow is just family. 7 total. Should be a peaceful day.
If you are down south enough to say hello. I would love to meet you.
Merry Christmas.
sounds perfectly wonderful! I too, quite like Christmas Eve better than Christmas day. We had a wonderful day with friends visiting from out of town, and this evening we're headed out to dinner at my favorite restaurant in Palm Springs! I think I may just need to make sticky buns in the morning Kathy!
Guess what? We're under a winter storm warning here. They say we might get 5 inches of snow and ice tonight and tomorrow. A white Christmas!
Anyway, Merry Christmas!
