About Me

My photo
I am a retired English teacher and department head, the mother of three, grand mother of three, and have been married to the same man for 42 years. I subscribe to Dr. PM Forni's concept of Civility. I was born in South Philadelphia and grew up in the 'burbs. I love soft pretzels and cheesesteaks, the Phillies, the Eagles, and San Diego. I love being Mom, Aunt Kathy, Nona Kathy, and Teacher. I spend a lot of time in my gardens in the spring and summer, and in the winter I plan what I'm going to plant. I also am an avid reader and photographer.

If it's cold enough to freeze off my derriere, why is it still taking up so much space?

And so the cold snap continues.
I thought I'd share some of our photos from Florida (where I understand it's cold as well).

These two Jack Russell terriers were sitting in the back of their masters' boat in Marco Island.

Pelicans relaxing on the dock at Marco Island.

Marge, Dave, and Richard discuss our itinerary for the day.

My version of Monet's water lilies.

Naples, Florida is a hoppin'!

David, Marge, and Sous Chef Brad outside the Jolly Cricket in Naples.

Spanish moss on a live oak.

Moss and bromeliad.

Shells on Sanibel Island.

A Northern Flicker taps for me.

Kath - You take really nice photos. It is so nice to see palm trees and sunshine.
I'm sure you are glad you were there before the cold snap.

How nice to see warm stuff on a day like today. I especially love the Spanish Moss. Can't wait to go back to the Lowcountry.
