Musings...

Raining here in Maryland, today, varying from showers to veritable ropes of rain.  I've already been to the gym, and am now catching up on email and reading blogs.  I did an hour of cardio while watching six TVs (three on news channels, one on the Columbia Association channel, one with the Spain-Switzerland soccer game, and the last with Regis and his fill-in hostess.  I switched off from my IPOD to whatever looked interesting at the time.  I call this "ADD Delight".  I also witnessed what I thought was a woman having a stroke, but she was just doing the cardio portion of circuit-weights and waving her arms spastically.  I really did try not to stare...

President Obama met this morning  with attorneys from BP and government.  I would have loved to have been a fly on that wall!  Lt. General Russel Honoré (Ret) (Remember this hero from Katrina?) discussed his ideas for dealing with the Gulf. He said we should be treating it like WW III and start taking the offensive.   I hope the President has an opportunity to hear him, although I'm sure the good man is up to his schnutz in advice.

I received a comment on my last posting from Heidi at Alamo.  She apologized for the manner in which the incident was handled.  It's nice to know that companies are willing to make good from a bad situation.  All is now well.

Daughter is recuperating nicely from her ordeal with the cleaning agents.  The bad news is that she sat in that ER for over eight (8) hours having difficulty breathing.  This is not the usual for this hospital -- something REALLY went wrong.  Triage protocols (ABCs (airway, breathing, and circulation))  would have indicated she be seen very promptly and treated, and while she was initially seen and a chest x-ray ordered and taken, she was relegated to the waiting room where she waited for six hours more.  By the time the physician did see her and realized what had been going on, he was livid.  He quickly ordered her meds and a breathing treatment and she was able to go home. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I'll find out.

I can certainly relate to your 'ADD Delight'. I seem to practice that quite a bit as well.
I'm glad your daughter is recuperating nicely, but it is truly a shame that she had to wait so long at the hospital. Unfortunately that seems to be a common problem in this area as well.

Kathy.. I just looked at your old posts. The photos of your house with the snow. Reminded me so much of one of the winters we had when we lived there when we received 26 inches in 24 hours The entire neighborhood had to pitch in and help dig one another out...THAT's what I miss about living there.

*Hope your daughter is doing well* How scary.

Glad your daughter is feeling better.
You had alot to say today, and it's all good. Well, the BP fiasco isn't.
Take Care.
How's the knees?

Glad your daughter is okay - I've been guilty of doing the mixing as well - not good!

So I'm confused! Your Comic Madness post says you got the rental car from Enterprise, but this one says Alamo commented to apologize. Are they related now? LOL

Kimberly, Yes, evidently one bought the other.

I am glad your daughter is OK, and that the neglect at the ER did not cause more complications! OMG the poor woman having to sit there all of that time!

Glad the rental took care of your bill! Did u know she read your blog?

I'm glad your daughter is recovering despite the fact that she was made to wait 8 hours for treatment. Also glad you got an apology from Alamo.
I'm jealous of your rain - we still haven't gotten any - and of your vast selection of entertainment while working out. I have an old TV by my treadmill that works by a converter box and rabbit ears. The picture comes and goes and I can only get 2 channels.
I may have the first ripe tomato, but it will be quite awhile before I get another.

I've never considered joining a gym, but maybe I should.
I'm glad you got a good resolution on the rental car and your daughter's contition.

Yes, I've seen that happen a lot at the VA here. I hope the doctor makes a fuss for her. You take care of you.

Stopping by to say hello. I caught up with your blog last night but was too tired to comment. Comments are so nice so I wanted to come back. Glad M is doing well. ER's are horrible. Thankfully both of my parents had to go by ambulance so there was no wait. Bad that that's something to be thankful for, you know?

Sorry I missed you at the salon yesterday!
