Pots Gone Wild!!

Upon reading my last post, I realize how didactic I may sound and need to add that while I believe strongly in marriage, I believe more strongly in commitment.  However, I believe when two people cannot work out their problems it is best to split. What I don't believe in is infidelity.  And I don't like Nicholas Sparks' novels.  I think them mawkish.

This morning marked the first day of classes in our county and as we have for the last three years,  retirees met (this year there were 15 of us) for breakfast and a toast (pun intended) to all of our colleagues still in the classroom.

Before I post the photos from our Naples, Florida trip, I thought I'd share the two pots on my front steps.  Originally, I feared they wouldn't 'fill in.' Oh me of little faith....

Gorgeous, Kathy... Your front walk and porch are beautiful... Thanks for sharing.

I thought your post yesterday was good... I was the first person in my family to get a divorce. It was HARD ---but to this day, I know that I did the right thing--probably for both of us. He did CHEAT --and I just couldn't forgive.. I guess neither of us wanted to make it work after that. BUT--life is tremendous for me now (and probably for him also). SO--sometimes divorce just has to happen.

Hugs,
Betsy

I think they look great - I like things a bit wild. Also like the color combination.

What wonderful, lush pots!
Tom and I will be getting together with other retired teachers for breakfast next Wednesday, Sept. 8th, the first day of school here. We have breakfast every week with retirees he taught with. This first day of school will be with my former colleagues. But we often both go either way, because we all know each other. That's partly because we used to host parties for both school staffs.

Your front landscaping looks beautiful.

I hate Nicholas Sparks too. Ever since he made the claim that Cormac McCarthy sucked and he was a wayyyyy better writer.

Outstanding. Looks like the nicotina died back. But that's to be expected.

Those pots are wonderful! How did you manage to keep thek like that in all that heat?? Mine did very badly, except the cosmos I sowed too late, used the tall ones instead of dwarf, and are now just coming up to their peak extravagance just as we go on holiday!!

Can't win, can I??

Nature is amazing, huh? To think you put together a collection of little plants and your reward is so large. The planters are gorgeous.
