Below is the Margaret Todd, a schooner we had booked to view lighthouses, but the weather was cold and rainy, so we bagged it and enjoyed walking through the quaint town, and sitting down to a lobster roll lunch on the wharf. The rock 'bar' behind the schooner is how this port got its name. It is only fully visible during low tide.
Next, we head to St. John, New Brunswick and a whale of a good time.

I'm not going to show your blog to my husband. He wants us to move to Bar Harbor. No why! I am an Arizona girl living in Kansas. We get plenty of snow here- thank you very much!

Thanks for the pictures and the memories. I was in Bar Harbor more than 40 years ago. We also went to Mount Cadillac and couldn't see a thing because of the fog!! It's nice to know some things never change!
I'd sure like to take a cruise on that schooner.

We spent some time there last year in July and had a great time. Too bad your weather wasn't so great.
Oh My Heart.... I'd love to ride on that schooner and view the lighthouses.... Too bad the weather was so bad and you couldn't go.... You'll just have to go back there again sometime.

Oh yes, I remember occasions when mountains totally disappeared in the fog!! But your photos are lovely, (except the second, which didn't appear!). I'd so love to see that part of N. America
Years ago I camped in Acadia National Park; it was beautiful. Sometimes due to weather conditions, postcards have to fill in, and that's okay too.
Wonderful stuff. Every day you gift us with a new view of life. I thank you so much from the bugs and snakes to the lighthouses. :)
I went to Bar Harbor years ago. We need to visit there again, soon. Too bad about the fog!
Last time I visited your blog was in May! My loss, I missed so much and am trying to catch up. You have had an extremely busy 4 1/2 months. When do you find the time to grow such beautiful summer gardens with all your travel, writing, submissions to publishers and family visits etc., thrown in the mix. Your photographs on this post and others are wonderful. Hope you enjoy your visit to New Brunswick. I promise not to stay away from here so long again.
Bar Harbor looks like a wonderful place to take a casual stroll and find something delicious to eat. Maybe one day I can visit.
