And Lastly...I end with Underwear

On a serious note -- Today is Election Day.  I voted in our state's early voting campaign last week so I won't be voting  today.  I'm happy this is THE day.  I'm disgusted with the vituperous, duplicitous, and purposefully misleading ads and mud-slinging from both sides.  If this much time and effort was spent on real issues, rather than on whose yoohoo is longer, our country would be a lot better off!  SHAME ON THEM ALL!! And shame on us for tolerating it.

You can all breathe a collective sigh of relief.  This is my last posting about our Canada cruise!  (I can feel that great wind a blowin' as I compose!! ☻)

Our last stop was Boston in which we did a quickie Olde Time Trolley tour and then, the important part, met with long time friends for lunch.

And then we left.  I don't care how many times I've observed this -- it still fascinates me.  Cruise ships can pull out of very tight spaces rather easily.  This surprised me when I saw my first cruise ship deport in Key West several years ago.  With thrusters, they just pull out sideways!  Here we are pulling out of a tight 'parking space' -- surrounded by three other large ships.
Here we're backing out into Boston Harbor.  With much waving at other passengers, we passed two of the three ships docked there.  Then, we noticed this sight.  This is a European cruise line (I Googled the name of the ship) that specializes in all adult cruises.  Each balcony has a clothesline! This couple wasn't particularly excited to see us go.  Maybe she was tired from doing laundry.

We all need clean underwear!
I agree with you about the political ads - tired of it.

So they pull out/push out sideways? Who'da thunk it. Not me.

Sounds like a wonderful trip! Seems appropriate to end with underwear. ;)

I,too, am happy this political phase is wrapping up. So much plain ol' meanness going on from everyone. I can research and make my own decisions; I don't need a TV ad to persuade me!

Hi, I wandered over from Cheryl's blog :-)

I am amazed that the ships can turn on a dime. You would think with the mass of them they would need a bit more maneuvering space.

Thanks for letting me prattle :-)

An all adult cruise, I'd love to see the list of activities! lolol

Boston is a great place to spend some time, I love going there.

I am so tired of the election commercials. They seem particularly obnoxious & nasty this year....could be me, though!

By the way, I meant to tell you that I just love the photo in your header - it looks so beautiful and peaceful - goes well with your blog name! lol

Agree, so glad all this campaign stuff will be over today. My phone hasn't rang so much since I had teenagers in the house!

Never realized the ship could move that way.

So funny about the clothes line and underware!

Hi, I would never tire of seeing your cruise photos... I didn't think you posted 'that' many....

Ha Ha---maybe those people with the laundry had been on their ship for a LONG LONG time... Guess they were bored...

We're watching the election returns right now.... So far, my side is doing pretty well throughout the country... YEAH!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Ha! Doing laundry while on a cruise? Did she have to make dinner for him too? LOL ;-)

While I'm delighted to send the end of political ads, I must confess that I enjoyed every one of your posts about your cruise.

I could do with some of those thrusters on my car when I am trying to park in a tight place!!

Washing lines on very balcony?? Must have been a European ship. There is a limit to the number of knickers a girl can pack!!

Loved reading about your cruise - places I will never get to :(

That's pretty impressive how those big ships can move about now. My dad spent his last few years in the Navy driving a tugboat shoving those big ships around...I wonder if they still use them or just have thrusters now? Hmmm

I'd much rather read about your cruise than listen to any more political junk.

Ending with underwear. Did you see any $18 bras?

That laundry is so funny.

To leave the Geezer a note, use the link on my latest entry to "Himself." That will take you to his blog, which is on Open Diary. The entries are listed on the right, so just click on his newest entry. At the bottom, and there is a great shot of the Ryndam's promenade deck, there's a comment that says, "Leave a Note." Click on that, and leave him a note. :)

I am with you! So glad it's over and I don't have to see any more political ads ... they were bad in California! (as I am sure they were everywhere!)

Have a beautiful week!
