Our tree looks good, don't you think?  :)  Actually, we can't take credit.   One of the many benefits of my mom's living where she does is that she's relatively close to us, another is that she's a stone's throw from the beautiful Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square.  This is one of the trees in the conservatory.  We purchased tickets for their Christmas exhibit through the alumni association of our college about a month ago, but had no idea how magnificent and festive the gardens would actually be. We visited there on Saturday evening  along with hundreds of others.  It was worth braving the chilly temperatures, the crowds of very polite people, and the college's total screw up of our admission.  The Longwood folks were wonderful; the college folks, not so much.  No big news there...

These gargoyles in the children's garden are magical

as was the outdoor train garden

The outdoor train garden was magical

This bell thing is one of a kind.  The sounds issued from it are magnificent.

The player was dressed a la Phantom of the Opera - mask and all.

And then time to go look for our car....

I've always wanted to visit the Gardens during Christmas. It's very close to Rob's parents' house. Maybe next year? How cold was it?

The tree was beautiful as were all the potted plants and flowers. How nice of an evening, especially to have also been entertained with the lovely music.
