Again, I'm really touched by all your good wishes and condolences. The funeral is this weekend and the good news is that I'll be seeing my brothers, my mom, and the rest of the family.
Yesterday was my husband's birthday. He didn't want a cake, but had asked for baked brie and a salad. In this house birthday wishes are honored. We took a picture of the baked brie and as soon as I figure out how to download the photos from the new camera, I'll post it and my recipe, if anyone is interested.
Monday, while I was working out on the elliptical at the gym, an older man came in and mounted the bike directly in front of me. He was dressed so spiffily: biking shorts, cross-training shoes, a biking shirt that had pockets for his water bottle, and IPod, state of the art exercise gloves, and the latest in sound-blocking ear phones. He was working hard and I thought it was so nice to see a man his age taking care of himself and his appearance until he took out his teeth and stuck the towel in his mouth. I fought the urge to laugh aloud and/or to yell, "EEEWWW"! So much for appearances.

With re: to the dentures, I am laughing and thinking ewwwwwww at the same time.
I would love to have your brie recipe when you get the chance - no rush of course.
Please wish Richard a Happy Birthday.
Take Care.
Kathy, Get a USB card reader (Walmart or somewhere) and put the card from your camera in there... The pictures will come up on your computer. We use folders for all of our different pictures..
Your baked brie sounds wonderful... Happy Birthday to your hubby yesterday...
HA HA --about the older man at the gym....
The best thing about funerals is getting to see other family members which you love an don't see very often...
Hugs,
Betsy
So much for elegance!
Took his teeth out!!! Sheesh. Is nothing out of bounds anymore as far as what is acceptable public behavior? Makes me gag just thinking about seeing that.

"...until he took out his teeth." I can only dream of aspiring to that level of suave, debonaire behavior.
Oh my what awful incident at the gym. It gags me to this day to see someone pull their teeth out. Much less seeing someone without their teeth in a public place. Growing up my paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother had no teeth. I am thankful that both my parents still have theirs!
I'm so sorry about your cousin's death. I'll follow Forrest's blog too. I'll keep you all in my thoughts, tho I shant go to the gym with you any time soon. LOL
Did he have a pocket for the teeth?
Happy Birthday to Richard!
Oh did I laugh about the teeth coming out! I can't believe someone would do that in public!
PS I saw my mom yesterday and she said to tell you to only use fresh shrimp for her recipe. Hope u didn't try it yet!
Happy Birthday to Richard. Baked brie and a salad sound better than cake to me. I'm waiting for the recipe.
I can't believe that man removed hs teeth in public! People can do the strangest things.
Sounds like everything came from the store, including the teeth.
The teeth on the towel thing is why you need a cell phone camera with you all times.
Happy birthday to the Hubs!
I am sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you enjoy the time of bittersweet companionship with those you love.
You just made my day with your last comments! I am truly laughing out loud.
Yeah, teeth definitely belong INSIDE THE HEAD somewhere when out in public!
Kathy, I am sorry about Harry. I haven't been on the blogs much because its hard to read, so I am only just catching up with a few here and there. (Still waiting for my glasses!)
I hope everything goes well for the funeral at the weekend. Its sad, but it does make a time for family to catch up with each other!
But I had to laugh over the teeth man!! Ugh!!
Happy belated birthday wishes to your husband and lets hope he's not at the gym all spiffed up in the latest gear taking his teeth out onto a towel one day!
EEEWWW! My mom always takes out her dentures to eat and I can't stand that. Yuck.
