We took my friend, Carol to the airport this morning. Carol is escaping our weather to visit her sister in Florida. I tried to get on the plane with her, but security dragged me kicking and screaming back to our snow-covered car. (Not really -- Richard had brushed the snow off the car...).
Afterward, we drove a short distance to Catonsville and Duesenberg's where we had a late breakfast/early lunch. I had blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs. Richard had poached eggs on fried green tomatoes and carmelized onions, topped with asparagus, hollandaise, and applewood smoked bacon. This comes with a side of Lipitor. We also ordered a crab pretzel (a soft pretzel stuffed with crabmeat and cheese and baked). We brought home half the pancakes, half of Richard's order and the whole untouched pretzel. We have enough for dinner tonight and b-fast tomorrow.
I worked all day yesterday on a request for proposal (RFP) and never made it to the gym after Monday so renewing my prospective was really good. I'll try to go to the gym this afternoon.
Our young friend, Forrest, continues to improve. He is at Level 4 of the Rancho Cognitive scores. And while not totally awake, he opened his eyes on Tuesday (the day after a prayer service was held for him) and began tracking people as they came into his room. His parents continue reading all the blog comments and messages sent to him and are touched by the outpouring of love and support. Thank you to those of you who have meditated, prayed for him, or left a message on the blog.

I have the same problem of big eyes when we go to a restaurant at a 'different' time. But at least you have several meals ready to go.
I'm sorry you weren't able to get away on the plane, but perhaps your friend will bring back some warmer weather when she returns.
I'm glad to hear that Forrest is improving.
Sometimes my eyes double in size too. And it's downhill from there.
Glad to read that Forrest is able to track people as they come into the room. That sound like a big improvement. I am still sending positive thoughts his way.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
You brunch sounded wonderful. I especially was drawn to your husband's choice. Yummy sounding. It is amazing how much we can be served in one meal at some of these places.
Yeah, I guess that's a little better than my Great Value Frosted Flakes that I had for breakfast.
The one thing I miss about living in a large city or near one are the choices they offer in restaurants. We just have hick joints with horrible food.

Can you take home left-overs from an eatery?? :o How do you do that?
Going to a special Sunday Market today, where there are absolutely marvellous things to eat and buy. I'm hoping to find the gorgeous sausage-and-something pies I found last time.
I thought I knew Catonsville, but have no idea where this is - sounds wonderful!
The food sounds amazing, and especially so since I started counting calories this week. Ugh. But necessary.
my god that sounds so good. can you send leftovers overseas?
p.s. i´m so glad forrest is improving.

I am trying to order smaller plate fulls. 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon were almost too much yesterday. Now I have Girl Scout Cookie stuffedness. Oh dear.
"poached eggs on fried green tomatoes and carmelized onions, topped with asparagus, hollandaise, and applewood smoked bacon." Good heavens, I can feel MY OWN arteries hardening!
Hi Kathy, Your breakfast/brunch sounds wonderful... Glad you could take alot of it home to enjoy later...
I'm sure you really WANTED to get on that airplane... Florida this time of year sounds nice.
Hope you don't get this horribly bad weather which seems to be coming all over the country. We are lucky here ---since we are still warm and will only get rain....
Hugs,
Betsy
Great to hear that Forrest is improving! :-)
Lots of food and it all sounds delicious.
Ummm, sounds yummy! and sometimes we just don't get everything done we want to. I always have such high expectations of any given day and by the end, wonder where the day went!
Enjoy your evening!
I ate there once for lunch and forgot about it. It was fabulous and I want to go back! Maybe one day in the future I'll be free for lunch on a day off? Let's go there.
Glad to hear Forrest is improving.
