MOO

It has occurred to me that the length of time I sit at this computer is directly related to the width of,  er...shall we say my hips.  What I'm going to do about this, I don't know.  I enjoy my time reading blogs and emails, doing occasional research, playing solitaire, and, oh yes, my editing work, but something is going to have to change.  Maybe if I increase the number of days at the gym or as the weather gets better -- it IS  going to get better, right? -- walk through the neighborhood...  I need to work on a solution to this soon as I got a passing shot of myself in the glass of our front door the other day.   Holy cow!

Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone gains alittle fluff during the winter months. My applause to you is that you stick with the gym on a regular basis (I can't say that). Be kind to yourself. When the weather breaks, you and Richard can walk after dinner.

You know what Kathy,
I actually had one of those revelations in November and had to ask myself if that was okay to look like that because if it was, then great; accept myself and move ahead, but if not, then I best be doing something about it. I don't mention it often but I joined Weight Watcher's Dec. 7 (yes, I purposefully did it before the holidays so I was held accountable!) and to dat have lost 8.2 pounds...I go on Tuesday night so we'll see if I lost anymore.
I am not a 'gym-rat' so anyway, that was what came to mind...
my goal is to lose 30 lbs. so I'm getting there!
on an ending note, you need to be happy! so if you are going to do anything, do it for you!

I spend a lot of time on the computer too. But I don't sit for long at any one time. Since my computer is in the kitchen I hop on and off the computer many times during the day.

I feel your pain girl. I had to go buy new dress pants 2 weeks ago. I was not a happy camper. Plus the mirrors didn't make me feel any better.
I swear I feel my ass growing sometimes.
I can't imagine how I would be if I didn't hit the gym 4 to 5 days a week.

I know the feeling...

You're going to have to put yourself on a computer diet, and get moving. Exercise some way every day.

I can hardly wait for spring. I'm just trying to hold my own until I can get back to walking and moving around more. I'm also spending too much time in my recliner with my laptop.

Ohhh, this is SO my life!! At the Y program I am participating in, we talked about this. One solution is to spend equal time in physical activity of some sort...but if I sleep 8 hours, sit at the computer for 12 hours, eat for 6 hours...well, where's the extra 12 hours to spend in physical activity???

Perhaps "Holy Cow" is not the best choice of words. Just sayin'...

Oh Kathy, Don't be so darn hard on yourself. It's winter... What else can you do???? If you enjoy being on the computer, then that's fine.... Life is too short to worry about things you can't do much about right now....

Quit fretting ---and just remember that Spring is coming soon. There will be LOTS to do outside then and you can get tons of exercise... When Spring and Summer get here, you'll be wishing for more time on the computer... Such is life.
Hugs,
Betsy

I want to swim. Outdoors. A bathing suit is a good deterrent to too much food (I'm so full as I'm writing this I can't stand it). Yes, the weather will change, and we'll get outside. And, you're really good about going to the gym. Aren't you?

I think we're all beginning to feel the need to get out and about. I sure hope that groundhog doesn't see his shadow tomorrow -- I'm ready for Spring.

I seem to have the same problem. At least you go to the gym and workout. I go from the computer desk to my chair in front of the TV. My excuse is that it has been too cold to go out in the garage to use the treadmill. When the weather improves we'll get more exercise - right?

Oh, I so know what you mean! I do take our dog out every day (nearly!) but not being able to walk very fast, the fat settles on faster than I can walk it off.

And the gym is no good with my disabilities.......

I shall just have to stop eating :(

LOL, I read a post a few weeks back where a blogger stated that she was starting a diet and exercise program to help get rid of what she termed *blogger's butt*
