We decided that a tram ride up Mount San Jacinto would be fun. All I could say when I first saw this from the ground was "Holy %$#@" and "Mother of God"! Believe me, it looked substantially more foreboding standing at the bottom of that 8600 feet of magnificent mountain.
The ride up the mountain takes only 10 minutes and the views from the top were spectacular. The temperature at the bottom was 88° and only 41° with very brisk winds at the top.
That little tram, built in Switzerland, holds 80 people!

Looks like fun! I'm not a big fan of heights, but I would probably do it. As long as there's something cool at the top. Like a bar or something.
Gee, I dunno if I'd want to do that. I don't even like ferris wheels. Looks like it was worth it, though.
Whoa...I'm not sure I would have joined you in this adventure if I were given the chance. The views are really nice though.
I love cable cars. I rode some wonderful ones in Europe.
I hated that tram! I liked the view from the top, but I had my eyes closed most of the way up and down. Same with the tram in Pittsburg. Not for me! Too vertical. Too high. I'm such a wimp.
I am a wimp, too. You are brave, Kathy! Beautiful pics though!
We call them gondolas here. Trams run on tracks in the street. I find it amazing how many people they cram on them. I personally think its so that there is no room to fall over when you go over those support poles and then do that little free fall action. Fun, aren't they?! I think I've gotten somewhat use to them, but the higher ones still freak me out a little bit.
Oh wow! These are amazing photos! I'm not one for heights. This would have scared me silly.
That looks a FANTASTIC ride! Think I might be holding my breath as I went up, though (not having much of a head for heights!) But you couldn't NOT go up, could you!
Love your new header, by the way.
I'm not one for cable cars, or heights in general. You can ride up, take the pictures, and e-mail them to me so I can say, "OOOOOHHHHH!" Ask Agnes to tell you about my nervous walk across the Royal Gorge Bridge the next time we get together...
