The laundry is done; the suitcases put away (at least mine are - Husb is flying out again tonight), the pictures are burned onto a disc, I've caught up on everyone's blog, and my desk is a mountain of mess.
We dodged the snow bullet last night and suffered only a dusting; today we continue with spring's bursting around us. Helleborus, forsythia, dicentra --♫ March is busting out all over ♫. Now if the temperatures would just rise a bit. (Remind me I've said this when it's 90° here with matching humidity).
My sleep cycle is still off from being on the Left Coast; I can't get to sleep at night and then wake up on California time. This should end soon especially since I'll return to the gym tomorrow. I intend to exercise myself into East Coast time.
Thought I'd share a few photos...
After Marge and Dave picked us up at the airport, we went to dinner at C Level on Harbor Island where we caught up and shared this spectacular view of San Diego. Can you see the marine layer hovering over Point Loma, the Navy base, and then progressing toward downtown?
It dissipated as quickly as it appeared.
The next day we had a wonderful b-fast at To The Point.
And then headed for Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. I shot these out the car window on the way...
We were greeted along the way by the 'waves' of these happy wind turbines.

My daughter and daughter-in-law both love San Diego. I've never been there but it looks like fun.
I love all those wind turbines! I saw one being hauled on a flatbed truck down the road one time... THEY ARE HUGE!

Welcome back my friend. I've missed you! Glad you had a wonderful time in CA with your friends. That is what life is/should be. See you 'round the bend. :)
HAHA! Love the wind turbine pics:D Looks like y'all had fun! I like the new page pic, but you might look at shrinking the size to fit the width of the blog area:D Just my dos pesos:D
Welcome back. Your pictures are beautiful! It looks like a rejuvinating trip to me!!
Kathy,
Thanks for your support on my blog today...education is rough these days and I wouldn't encourage anyone to pursue the field; sad, isn't it?
I am glad you had a wonderful time...I love the photos and my favorite is the schooner sailing across the water; just beautiful! so now settle in and welcome spring!
San Diego is so wonderful. Thanks for sharing your nice photos. I remember those wind turbines along the way from San Diego and Palm Springs. I was amazed at how many there were when me made that trip about 15 or 16 years ago.
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip.
San Diego is on our list for our next CA trip...don't know when, though! I'll have to take the trip via your posts until we make a decision to go again!
Glad to have you back home and that you had a wonderful time. Awesome pictures. Love the new header pic as well!
Love the pics. San Diego is such a beautiful place. But, it's always nice to get back home too.
I think what I'd love the most about traveling is the complete change of scenery. My trips are mainly to Myrtle Beach and Cape Cod. I love the familiarity, but I'm ready for AZ!
It looks beautiful!! If CA is on the left coast, I guess that means you live on the right coast, huh. You're too funny!
So happy to see you back, Kathy and very, very happy that you had such a lovely time. I think it's great that we're trying to make sure of wind energy now. Now then, you need to relax and put your feet up.
Sounds like you got a lot done already since you've been back.
All your photos are beautiful. Glad you had such a good time. Looking forward to seeing you Thursday. : )
The wind turbines are in the wrong place...if we put them up around Capitol Hill, we could eliminate our dependence on dangerous nuclear power and enjoy a permanent, self-sustaining source of high-powered wind energy. We've got to be able to get SOMETHING useful out of Congress...
Welcome home. Thanks for sharing some pics. That sailboat and mountain one are great. Can see the jet trail from the airplane!
Welcome home.
And next time you are here, remember I live two blocks from To The Point. :)
So glad you had fun with your friends. :)
Thanks too for taking the time to leave me a note. The suiting quilt with the wool batting could probably be sent to the cleaners. The other two could be very gently hand washed in the tub and lifted out on a sheet sling. They are really to fragile to get clean again.
Lovely photos. Do you know that at first I thought that ceramic blue mushroom in one of your earlier photos was real?
