Soon

Am feeling really overwhelmed right now with the amount to do in the gardens.  Lots of perennials are popping up but so are the weeds.  I have to approach this systematically -- clean, weed, mulch gardens in which I won't be planting annuals.  We took delivery of 44 bags of mulch on Saturday and husband has started to spread this.  Luckily for me, my cold has turned into bronchitis so playing in the mulch is a no-no right now.  Too bad :(.

The garden/pot plans are about 70% finished.  I'm trying something new this year in that I'll plant a variety of the same color of plant in the same pot  -- for example, three colors of mini-petunias (million bells or calibrachoa).   I'll share the photos and we'll all see how this works.

We'll have a freakish day of temps in the 80s, but tomorrow should return to the normal 60s.  Even so, today's temp should really encourage more growth.  The maple is actually 'leafing'.

With any luck, things will look like this, soon....

Just flat out lovely.

Things are really blooming here! Lots of warm days (and nights) sunshine and every few days some rain will probably result in lots of green yards and pretty flowers.

So far, all I have managed to do is clean up the accumulated winter detritus and turn over the soil in my garden. My onion bulbs remain to be planted, and the local garden shop just opened this week, so I should be able to get my herbs put in soon. Here's hoping...

You certainly are ambitious! I love your old clay pots. I have a big pot of perennial lavender and a big pot of basil that comes back every year. That's about all I can muster.

Those photos are beautiful.
I know your garden will be in great shape in no time. Please take care of yourself, though!

Your posts are lovely. I understand how you are feeling. I went out for a while on Friday and felt like forgetting the whole gardening thing. I also have perennials to clean up from last year, and the new growth is already getting started. I really have a lot of clean-up to do. We've had so much wind that I can't get out to get it done. The wind stirs up my allergies to the point of making me miserable.

I hope you get to feeling better. Once you get out there, you will be in your groove. If you are like me, you don't want to come inside once you get started.

Oh Kathy,
Please take care of yourself...you don't need that bronchitis turning into pnuemonia. I don't care if you want to be the Red-Nosed Pruner...take care of yourself becasue the mulch will wait!

This is always a busy time of year in the yard and garden. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten in the gardening mood yet.
You'll get it done. Having bronchitis is slowing you down. Get well and you will have it all looking beautiful in no time.

While spring is slowly happening here, it is way to cold to plant out any annuals or garden seeds. Our temps are way below normal. I do long for pots spilling with color.

I hope you soon get over your bronchitis -- an hour after your husband finishes with the mulch. Your garden is looking beautiful.
Things are really growing in our yard as well -- including the weeds.

You are so ahead of the times - that's great! I like your idea of the three color theme. Take Care of yourself, and hopefully you will feel better soon.

Overwhelmed is how I'm feeling also. We're getting a new roof and new siding. The flower beds are full of building stuff right now, and the relentless hammering is driving me and the dogs nuts. The rain has slowed things down as well. It'll all get done sooner or later. Meanwhile, you take GOOD care of yourself.

Just think of the payoff in a few weeks because of your garden enthusiasm today!! I kicked ass during our faux spring back in January. My crops are now big and lovely and I'm harvesting fresh everything. It feeds the soul and the body simultaneously.
