We didn't get lost this time going to visit our youngest. One must understand when driving in VA that the assumption is that you've been there before -- no need to clearly mark direction or exits. This probably saves them a lot of money -- especially when confused motorists have to get on and off the Dulles Toll Road and pay the tolls each time.
The weather held out for a while, too.
We picnicked in the barn. From the left: Luke's sister, Robyn (youngest child), Luke. Behind Luke are his parents and my husband. On the right is our son, grand daughter, middle child and in the front is 'the baby' who just turned three two weeks ago.
My girls are multi-talented and can look feminine even when taking a fence and wearing a dress!

Melissa and the girls loved driving (slowly) around the farm on the ATV.
Two of Robyn's charges...

And then the rains came!
We toweled off the little ones, changed their clothes and then headed home.

Life on the horse farm is looking pretty good. Lovely looking family, no wonder you are so proud of them all.
p.s. the rain didn't hold off here at all :(
Beautiful! Picture postcards! Love the one of your daughter hopping the fence.
Looks like a good time had by all. So glad you were able to see your daughter down on the farm.
These really are beautiful photos. I'm glad you didn't get tooo lost. It must be so terrific to live out in the country with horses.
Looks like the perfect week-end even with the rain. A picnic in a barn... how divine!
Yes, had rain off and on all day yesterday over these Blue Ridge mountains. Loved it!

It looks as if you had a marvelous day 'Down on the Farm', and I'm glad the rain held off for much of the time. Your daughter is very lady-like, crossing that fence in her dress. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures.
Looks like it was a delightful day.
And I made the toad house. Without directions :)
I thought people only picnicked in a barn on The Barefoot Contessa and other Food Network shows. ;-)
