This Livin' Aint Exactly Easy

Thank you all for your great thoughts toward my upcoming 'event'.  The oddity with this thing is that I feel fantastic.  I know, though, that this has to be done.  I can be heard singing, "♫There's a hole in my colon, dear Liza, dear Liza...♫"  And I still can't understand why Big Guy was upset with the pictures from the colonoscopy that I put up on the refrigerator...

It is hotter than Hell here and across the country with heat indices for today and tomorrow well past 100°. As I rode around this morning at 9 getting all my errands out of the way, it was already 89°.   If there were ever two days designed for sitting in a corner over/under the AC vent, these are they!  Our house is closed tight; shutters and shades drawn; lights off.  I made a batch of gazpacho that sits 'marrying' in the refrigerator.  That and some cold shrimp will be dinner.  I feel so badly for all those who must work outside and pray for all of them.  In the words of my sweet dad, "Fa Caldo"!

This reminds me that my nurse practitioner told me three months ago that I need to get a colonoscopy. I've been holding off on it, but sigh... now that I'm reading your post, I guess it's time.

The heat is horrible everywhere. I not only worry about people who have to work outside --but also all of the farm and ranch animals.

Sounds like you are doing everything you can to stay cool today. We had a little rain which helped lower our temp just a tad --at least for a little while.

Hugs,
Betsy

I've decided that the yard is going to have to wait until it gets a little cooler. Your idea of staying near the air-conditioning is a great one. I'm glad you're feeling fantastic about your upcoming 'event'.

Enjoy the gazpacho and the cold shrimp. I'll be working my way through multiple changes of shirts at the dance party tonight for sure. I'll be in touch before your ... uh ... grand opening to wish you well. Glad you're being positive about it. Good luck!

So glad you are getting this done but with humor. We care. We are applauding the grand opening. :)

So hot!!

Did you read Crow Lake? I loved that book. I read it twice. With this heat, I may be inside reading tomorrow. I got all my watering done tonight.

The countdown is on! I know you're ready.

I think your dinner sounds perfect for such a hot day.

It is great to hear that you are feeling good. Your attitude is even better. Take care.

Well, could you send a bit of your heat over here? Not all of it, we don't want it that hot!

Summer seems to have gone for this year. ;(

And OI'm still thinking of you and praying you will be fine. Which you will be!

Great attitude, Kath! It'll get you far! The heat is s'posed to pick up again so if you have to be laid up for a few days might as well be when the weather's not much good for anything else.

I, too, feel so for the people who have to work outside and for the elderly who live alone and aren't very good at caring for themselves.

Thinking of you :o)
