Tailgating with Ed an Ame

Thank you all for your kind words and condolences.

We're all doing well (knocking loudly on wood).  It's a glorious day here in Maryland and we're spending the day doing 'stuff' we want to.  We've filled the bird feeders (need to get a new one, the squirrels ate our 'squirrel proof' feeder, sat outside in 65º degree weather, and we're 'getting 'ready' to watch the Eagles and Ravens this afternoon.  We'll be feasting on veggie wraps; a faro, corn, edaname and cilantro salad; and an Asian slaw.  Yes, we're tailgating in our family room. How soon can you all get here?

It's really interesting to me that as the weather begins to cool, I get the cooking/baking bug again.  It happens every year.  I revert to 'primitive woman' girding up for a long, cold winter.  I don't think it coincidence as the leaves fall and the perennials go underground that I begin to crave and want to prepare root vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes and the like.

I 'tailgate' alot from my own home/window... I love to sit and watch the backyard birds flitting back and forth to the feeders. Such JOY!!!!!

Your meal sounds wonderful... Glad you are feeling better.

Enjoy FALL!
Hugs,
Betsy

Kathy..thank you so much for the kind comments about my dad. You are so right..if he wasn't such a great dad and I didn't love him so much it would not hurt so much. I am so sorry to read about your mother-in-law...I have not been keeping up much with things the last couple of weeks. It sounds like a beautiful service indeed...take care of yourself in the next couple of weeks...xoox

I wish I had known about your tailgate party. I definitely would have been there to partake of all that delicious food.

Hey Kathy. I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. Time has it's way with us and it doesn't heal all wounds. It just dulls the pain. I hope you find that place where the loss of life and the continuing on of it meet as one.

The food looks great btw.

Take care and be good to yourself.

That food looks fantastic! Are edaname a sort of bean? Never heard of them, sand doubt I could get them here, though possibly in a specialist deli. And what is Faro?

Whatever it is, I'd tuck in immediately!
