On the Mend and Pigskin!

I snapped the header photo when I was down on Eastern Shore, just on the other side of the Bay Bridge on Piney Narrows.  Was so surprised that I could actually see the nest and the fledgling osprey.

I'm feeling a little better each day.  I had read someplace that they weren't sure that the vaccines developed for this year's influenza were appropriate, so I had to just go ahead and try out their theory.  Would you know they were right?  Tamiflu helped a lot though negating the high fever, chills, and body aches within 24 hours.  Now I'm dealing with the cough.  I have a great prescription cough syrup that works beautifully, but pretty much renders me stupid.

And no there's been no knee surgery.  It had to be postponed several times.  And, yes, it's been re-scheduled, but I'm not telling anyone until it's over.  Too many false starts.

I so loved watching Denver beat Pittsburgh yesterday.  I'm not a Tebow fan, but I will cheer on anyone who can take down Roethlisberger and his two different colored shoes.  The injured foot had on a size 15 and the healthy foot, a size 14.  But why have on two different colors?  To call attention to his injury?  So the other team knows which ankle to kick?   So he can remember his left from his right?  A veritable mystery.    I'm not sure how Denver will do against New England on Saturday (actually, I'm pretty sure how they'll do and it isn't pretty) and how our Ravens will do against Texas on Sunday, but I'll be watching.

I'm glad to hear that you are on the mend. The flu is no fun at all.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Denver-Pittsburgh game, especially the way it ended. I do think, however, that it will take a case of Divine Intervention for Denver to beat New England.

Sorry to hear that your knee surgery is postponed again but glad to hear that you are on the mend. That photo is lovely and while I did not watch the game...my husband did and enjoyed it immensely.

Continue to get better ;)

Hi Kathy, So sorry you have been so sick and that you have had to postpone your knee surgery... Hope you finally get it done soon and that you do well. Keeping you in my prayers.

I never liked Tebow (when he played for FL) --but I certainly admire him now. He's a fabulous young man. We need more like him out there!!! I hope they beat the Pats --but don't think they will. Brady is awesome...

I won't be for your team when they play the Texans. I am a big Texan fan --like my sons.

Hugs,
Betsy

Glad you're feeling better babe.

Ben Roethlisberger is a total drama queen. Even his teammates talk publicly about how he milks injuries.

I loved your new header photo, although, my first reaction was to think, "BRRR, it looks cold out there."

That darn flu has really laid you low. I'm so sorry. I can only imagine your frustration over not being able to have your knee surgery, but let's just say that perhaps it is better to get through flu season before that surgery. It would have been much worse to have the surgery and then get sick.

The game was awesome. I do live in Colorado, so I am not very objective.

Get better fast.

I'm with you on the Roethlisberger thing. Being from Seattle, we officially hate the 'Stealers'.

Sorry I only had a minute to see you yesterday. Glad I helped get you ready for your surgery! Whenever that is...today maybe?

I'm glad Tamiflu worked well. I did get the flu shot and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We've got a big trip planned in March and we need to be in good health.
