About Me

My photo
I am a retired English teacher and department head, the mother of three, grand mother of three, and have been married to the same man for 42 years. I subscribe to Dr. PM Forni's concept of Civility. I was born in South Philadelphia and grew up in the 'burbs. I love soft pretzels and cheesesteaks, the Phillies, the Eagles, and San Diego. I love being Mom, Aunt Kathy, Nona Kathy, and Teacher. I spend a lot of time in my gardens in the spring and summer, and in the winter I plan what I'm going to plant. I also am an avid reader and photographer.

Royal Secrets

I'm taking a short break in sharing our recent cruise/trip photos.  We'll continue with these next week.

As many of you know we have a family business.  All of our employees have offices in their homes, but business meetings are often held in our home.  Sometimes having a business run from home has interesting effects like the time the husband forgot to tell me a few employees were coming over and I had just gotten out of the shower.  Luckily, our health plan included the months of therapy necessary for the poor woman who walked in on me.  :)  I've also learned since while fun, walking around in my 'altogether' is probably not a good idea.

Yesterday was another instance when the line between business and family time was crossed a little.  Richard received a call from one of his client's attorneys.  She asked him if he'd been spending any time with a young grandchild.  He told her he had just the night before and asked how she knew.  Instead of answering his question, she asked, "Are you the king?  And were you holding the royal stuffed dog and minding the royal horses"?  He laughed -- evidently he had inadvertently butt/pocket called her while he was playing castle with Ariana on our living room floor.  Think Warren Buffett plays on the floor with his grand kids?

How funny - I'm glad he was playing with the Granddaughter and not you right after coming out of the shower!

My mom butt dials me all the time. Mostly I hear background noise. Thank goodness not more. Cute story with Richard and your adorable granddaughter.

Oh that is too funny! I love that story of grandpa and Ariana. Sounds like something my husband would do. :-)
