Even though we've had no appreciable rain for quite a while, we've had our share of very cloudy skies. It's been so dry, in fact, that many of the trees are not changing to their usual vibrant colors, but are just turning brown and falling. It happens every once in a while. I sat outside one day with my camera waiting for hummingbirds. They were skittish, so I sat on the patio and focused on the garden at the back of the yard. I got a few shots; none of them great. Look closely at the purple salvia in the middle. This is a female and I am happy for her company as fleeting as it was.
We returned on Wednesday night from a trip to beautiful Fort Lauderdale where the husband had business and I had dates to stare at the beautiful beach and ocean which I faithfully did! I also soaked in the pool and hot tub.

This trip/flight was a practice for a longer trip we're taking later in the fall. I wanted to see how my new knee behaved. My goal was to be able to painlessly lift my leg over the shoulder of the passenger in front of me. Boy, was he surprised. :)

I think your hummingbird photos are pretty impressive. Flowers still look good.
Ummmm... Over the shoulder of the person in front of you? I'm trying to imagine this.
And was it pain free? That hot tub looks great! And your garden looks so lovely. I am pea green!
Sounds like you passed the test with flying colors! Good for you!!
You brought a smile to my face!
Boy am I surprised too. LOL Youse is a winner.
How lovely to sit in your garden and watch hummingbirds! I'd be looking at them all day! Your knee sounds as though it might be better now - and perfectly capable of doing a long trip!
