To Sleep Perchance To Dream...

I've always been a sleeper.  Of course things had to change when I attended school, but I was that college freshman who took 8:00 AM classes ONLY when there was no other option, and usually showed up with a raincoat on over my pajamas.

As a teacher of high school, I was supposed to be in the building at 6:50 and at my duty station by 7:10.  My first class began at 7:25.  Suffice to say the kids learned early on that I wasn't to be unnecessarily irked until about 11.   And even then I'd look down to realize I'd be wearing two different shoes...

After teaching all day, I'd go to the gym, go home to make dinner, grade papers, and plan, and then be in bed by 8:30.  My husband used to tease me that if I went to bed any earlier, I'd have to arrange coverage for my sixth period class.

This morning for some reason I awoke at 6:20, just in time to see the first of the sunrise.  Yes, it was amazingly beautiful, but not enough that I wanted to witness the rest of it.  So I went back to bed...afterall, Trader Joe's doesn't open until 9 and Costco 9:30.  What was the point.  Even at the age of 62 I still crave the comfort and 'snuggliness' of that pillow-topped mattress.

You sound so comfortable as a night person. Even during the years I practiced being one, the truth is that I'm a day person. I actually like getting up at five. I like dinner at 5 in the afternoon. LOL

I tend to go to sleep closer to midnight no matter how much I try to fall asleep earlier and I usually wake up around 6:30. I know you're supposed to get eight hours ideally, but it's hard for me. I envy you.

I've always been a morning person, but now I'm older I find I need more sleep, not less! And I like it at the beginning of the day! And any programme on the TV after 9.0pm has to be REALLY interesting to prevent me dropping off to sleep, to the extreme annoyance of Mr.G!!

I love the part about the two shoes.

I have to agree with you! I am not an early riser. I wish I were. When I do get up early, I do enjoy the quietness of the day, but not enough to do it on a regular basis.
