Am feeling really overwhelmed right now with the amount to do in the gardens. Lots of perennials are popping up but so are the weeds. I have to approach this systematically -- clean, weed, mulch gardens in which I won't be planting annuals. We took delivery of 44 bags of mulch on Saturday and husband has started to spread this. Luckily for me, my cold has turned into bronchitis so playing in the mulch is a no-no right now. Too bad :(.
The garden/pot plans are about 70% finished. I'm trying something new this year in that I'll plant a variety of the same color of plant in the same pot -- for example, three colors of mini-petunias (million bells or calibrachoa). I'll share the photos and we'll all see how this works.
We'll have a freakish day of temps in the 80s, but tomorrow should return to the normal 60s. Even so, today's temp should really encourage more growth. The maple is actually 'leafing'.
With any luck, things will look like this, soon....
