Notes on a Thursday...

I woke up on this our 'baby's' 30th birthday thinking I was hearing lawn mowers; it was actually our sweet neighbor clearing our driveway.  When he finished ours, he did the other five driveways on the cul de sac.  It is a beautiful day -- the sun that gorgeous cerulean blue.  We shoveled the front walk, a path to the bird feeders, and around the heat pump.  We have the most beautiful and lethal looking icicles hanging from our roofs.  When I finished shoveling, my husband got me a lawn chair, and since I couldn't sit on my patio, I sat in the sun in the driveway for a few minutes.  It felt so good.

My husband met me at the door with a message that my mom had called and I was to call my brothers to tell them her younger sister had died during the night.  My aunt had been sick, but was really doing quite well.  Luckily, Mom had talked to her last night.  We're hoping the storm now being watched fizzles out so we can go up to Philadelphia on Tuesday.  This is my mom's fourth loss in as many weeks.  What a year this has been, and it's only February.
