I had changed to go to the gym and was just about to sit down to a late breakfast when I noticed them -- not one, but two pileated woodpeckers on the pin oak on our yard.
I grabbed my camera (I really need a zoom lens) and stealthily ran outside in my shorts. Of course as soon as I approached they flew, but I was still able to get a couple of shots deeper into the woods.
I apologize for these -- you'll have to look closely. He's to the left of the big trunk.
This one is up in the tree...
