My friend Carol confessed to me that she wanted to buy one of everything in Williams Sonoma's latest catalog. Why might I mention this? It's extraordinary because Carol doesn't cook!! And she was referring to the cooking accoutrements -- hadn't even gotten to the good stuff; the prepared yummies. How's that for marketing??
We were talking about our plans for Thanksgiving -- my favorite holiday. I'm cooking this year. Hopefully, we'll all be well enough to eat. (Was it last year or the year before when Richard took REALLY sick the morning of Thanksgiving and after driving my mom back to PA and out of a 'sick house' and then returning, I sat down with a 20 lb. turkey to eat -- ALONE.) Well, that's turkey under the bridge. Onto this year. "We" = 15 of us if my aunt and the Delaware contingent comes; 9 if they don't. Youngest child in Virginia will be working on Thanksgiving.
Aside from all the good food, I'm looking forward to sitting down with family; the laughter; the conversation; and the chaos that comes with having several generations in one room. I may not even cook -- just pass the Williams Sonoma catalog around!

I taught in both middle and high schools as I really love teens and in-betweens. I was also a certified Lamaze instructor, and for a short time a volunteer chaplain at Howard County General Hospital. I spend a lot of time in my gardens in the spring and summer, and in the winter I plan what I'm going to plant.
