Lunch Was Good and Let the Packing Begin

I just returned from having lunch with a college (Millersville University of Pennsylvania) friend of mine. We met half way in Westminster, MD at a Panera. We both ordered the tuna salad from different order takers and then sat down and chatted for over two and a half hours, like we had been doing this for the past thirty-three years! I guess that's the mark of a good friendship.

Richard and I are leaving for San Diego tomorrow morning. He has business there and I'll be having pleasure. We'll also be visiting our friends, Margie and Dave who moved out there in May. We had planned to surprise them at a restaurant (George's Ocean Terrace in La Jolla) we all enjoy, but their daughter, who was in on the three-month scheme, emailed me a few days ago, upset that Dave had been given an assignment in Toronto for the week. So we had to tell them we were coming. (Come to think of it, maybe he found out and was trying to leave town...) Anyhoodle (sorry, Jay), we'll be gone for a bit enjoying Cali, the gorgeous Pacific, and seeing our friends. I'll catch up with you next week.

You do get around! Have a wonderful time in San Diego. I'm sorry the surprise didn't work out, but I'm assuming Dave is staying in town now. Enjoy every minute of your visit. Maybe we'll finally see each other when you're back in town.

I've been busy this week at work , it's Quarterly time, so I'm just catching up with your blog this morning. I've been scratching my head every since we had lunch, the perplexed kind of scratching not the cooties kind. I was also amazed we just picked up the chatter like we had spoken the day before. I think we are both the same 17 year old girls we were back then, only in a bit larger bodies that don't want to work quite as well.

I have a few questions and comments. Has Dick gone bald? I agree with the public use of cell phones. What did these people do 20years ago? I'm glad we weren't that easy to keep track of when we were young. I don't mind the headphones, unless it's someone I'm speaking to. I spend a lot of time embarrassing my daughter also. I love to sing in the car and at home, and if you remember, I REALLY don't sing very well,

Glad to hear the vacation went well, with the exception of the sunburn, what were you thnking! Can't wait to see some pics!

Talk to you again soon
