Busy, busy day ahead of me... Not too busy to watch, just for a few minutes, the sun create steam as it dries the roof outside my office window. Nice.
Tonight I'm hosting book club. I'll make three different kinds of pizza: sausage and peppers; carmelized onion, feta and mozzarella; and pizza Marguerite (crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil), and a salad. I couldn't host the night we discussed my pick, John Grisham's Playing for Pizza and we met at a restaurant, so I offered to host tonight for my friend, Donna who chose Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. I must confess I didn't read it. I tried, I really tried, but it was like swallowing glass shards. I'll try to get to Spark Notes this afternoon. (Yes, an English teacher using Spark Notes :) SAY NOTHING!!)
I have a lot of cleaning to do before I start cooking. Daughter, baby and nanny are not here today so I can do this unimpeded.

Mmmm, you pizza sounds delicious. Hubbie will not eat pizza, so I haven't had any in two or three years. I'll have to get one just for me.
Have fun at your meeting tonight!
Your pizzas sound wonderful!
I have to confess, I tried to read a Jane Austin novel, Emma, last year and I couldn't do it either. And I'm an English major! I tried to decide why they were so hard to read, because I know they are so well loved. I have "seen" all of them as movies or on Masterpiece and love them. But as I read I tried to "see" the story and realized there was no description of what anything looked like. I need a mind movie when I read. I found myself trying to remember what the characters and clothing and setting looked like in the movie! I finally gave up!
LOVE LOVE LOVE pizza! Enjoy your book club tonight. Don't worry, I won't tell your former students about your cheating. ;)

I'm coming to your house for pizza! Sounds wonderful.
I don't do well in book clubs because I never read the kind of books others read.
Also, I have to be in the right mood to read a book. The book assignments never hit the mood I'm in. Later I may be interested in that book but not at the time I need to be.
Have a good eventing.
Got any regular old everyday pepperoni pizza?
Uh, and beer? Gotta have beer, right?
And, you're hosting a book club meeting on the night of the NFL draft? That's just crazy right there! haha ;-)
Oooo... oooo...ooooo (waiving hand franticly).
I read Playing for Pizza.
Well... sorta.
Actually I listened to the Audio Book version while I traveled to Indiana to teach.
Really enjoyed it. Hope you did as well.

I'm so jealous that I'm not eating your pizza. I mean that in all seriousness! I had cereal for dinner and used the last of the milk, meaning, no cereal for breakfast. Wah. I'm sure your meeting will be great. Your guests are in for a treat!
I just couldn't read Pride and Prejudice for my bookclub. Like shards of glass too.
