We're Back!

We flew back from Naples, Florida on Monday to much cooler temperatures.  I'll blog about the trip and post a few photos in a day or so.  I've spent the past three days catching up on reading blogs, doing laundry, taking care of plants, arranging gall bladder surgery for next week, (am doing this in an almost drive-thru situation!) and doing some general straightening up and cleaning.

Seems my attempt at humor was misunderstood by a few -- it was with 'tongue in cheek' that I stated we were escaping the heat of Maryland to cooler temperatures and fewer bugs in Florida!  However, even though it was REALLY hot, humid and buggy, we had a marvelous time.  I even attempted para sailing, but was thwarted when two rather ominous storms came rolling in.  I thought avoiding being a human lightning rod at 700' was probably a good idea.

It's been a year of many losses for our family and we're facing a couple more right now -- hard even though we all realize this is just the way it is.  I'm diligently trying to keep everything in perspective, appreciating all the blessings and the joys I have in my life -- and believe me, there are many.

Glad you are back and had a nice time in beautiful Naples. I admire your attempt at parasailing but am quite relieved you retreated from the storms rather than face them and the lightening head on!

It's nice that our temps have decreased quite a bit...now if we can get the rain to go it'll be perfect weather, or close to it!

I'm very sorry to hear that your family is going through rough time this year and anticipating more of the same. Even expected losses are never easy to cope with. Hang in there and I will be sure to keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Hi Kathy, Welcome back.... I'm glad you had a good time --and I'm sure you needed it... I'll bet that Florida MAY have been cooler than some of our temperatures here this summer.. At least, they usually have a breeze.. BUT--the good news is that our weather now is fabulous. YEAH!!!!

Gallbladder surgery???? Hope it goes well. Keep us posted...
Hugs and Prayers,
Betsy

Welcome back! I'm glad you decided not to become a human lightning rod, but I do hope everything else about your trip was absolutely wonderful.
I'm sorry to hear about the upcoming surgery, but I hope everything goes well.

Uh Oh - hopefully you can have the no incision laser gall bladder surgery.

Oops, yes, I missed that tic humor.
Parasailing is really wonderful, but probably not a good idea in a storm.
