A Little Paint, Clorox, And Some Fall Color

I decided to do some painting now that Richard is on the road/in the air again.  I did the back splash in the kitchen with a semi gloss to make it easier to clean.  I also put all my glass canisters in the dishwasher and used bleach under the cabinets -- couldn't believe how dirty it gets under there!   I've removed the tape, cleaned the brushes, and put the outlet covers and my appliances back.  Feels pretty good to have accomplished this.   I'll  paint the downstairs bathroom on Saturday because I'll need help moving the toilet.  Any takers??  George says he has a 'commitment'.  I think he probably doesn't want to drive the nine hours to get here to move my toilet.  Imagine that!!  :)

Last night the two of the trees in our yard finally changed color -- totally; the rest are leafless.   I guess it just doesn't take much to amaze me.

I still have a few annuals and my herbs blooming.  I'm hoping the herbs hold until Thanksgiving.

Gee, I'd love to help, but I have a previous commitment.
But I'll think about all the fun you're having.

Your kitchen looks great! I'm impressed. I hate to paint.
I know what you mean about the trees. They each seem to have their own built in schedule.

It was nice to come back to see pictures and even more. Love the tree! Sorry, but I'm with George. A nine hour flight over better have more as a reward than moving your toilet. LOL. Have fun with that. I'd probably just paint around it.

You are an excellent house cleaner! I love the smell of a freshly cleaned house, and just vaccuumed carpet. Enjoy your painting project. If I lived nearby, I'd come over to help.

Can't you just wiggle around the toilet instead of moving it? Am I just the laziest painter in the world because it never occurred to me to move a toilet? lol

Kitchen is looking good. It always feels so nice to have a big redo and cleaning like that.

Promised myself I would paint some walls this fall but it hasn't happened yet. It's just such an undertaking.

Good luck with the toilet!!

Now that I've seen your completed post, I must say that your kitchen looks great. I hope you found someone to help you with that toilet on Saturday.

RYN: Yes, so far I am enjoying his writing. I have enjoyed his commentary on various PBS special, so I thought I would enjoy this. So far it isn't too dry and I've already learned a lot.
