Se Habla Catalan???

Our trip began with a flight from BWI to Atlanta where we met Margie and David and then flew from Atlanta to Barcelona.  Two good things about flying all night:   the view of the most starry-heavens I've ever seen and the experience of flying into a sunrise.  Magnificent!

After we landed at around 9 AM, we decided to walk La Rambla (before taking well-needed naps)- the famous street in Barcelona.  We stopped for coffee and a small breakfast here.

La Rambla is a beautiful people space.  Lots of shops, tapas places, carts, and many people to watch - like this street performer.

Gorgeous architecture...

Lots of motorbikes...

American influence...

including a huge billboard for Hamilton watches that used to be made in Lancaster, PA...

People spaces everywhere....

Here we are waiting to board the HAL Nieuw Amsterdam.

And the Mediterranean as we sail into the sunset..
And arrive in Livorno two days later... Where we would visit the walled city of Lucca, a winery, and a beautiful villa.

It looks as if your cruise got off to a great start. I really like your photos from Barcelona, but that Mediterranean sunset is awesome.
