True Confessions

Thanks, Susan, for your naming me to "Honest Scrap".  I appreciate it and will try to do you proud!  Now if I can just get the darn Scrap thing on here....

Ten (10) honest facts about me:

1.    I sleep late.  I like to wake up when I wake up.  That's the glory of being retired after years of having to get up at 5:30 to arrive at school by 7:10.  (What the hell are they thinking?)

2.   I don't always make my bed.  As much of a neatnik as I am, sometimes I just don't feel like it.

3.   I have no patience for people who are  always down on themselves.

4.   I think John M. Jackson as Admiral Chegwiddon on JAG  is hot.

5.   As a matter of principle, I smile at everyone.

6.   I've stopped being patient with people at the grocery store who stand in the aisle and stare into space.  First, I politely ask them to move aside.  If they don't, I ask them if they are aware there are other people in the store.  (Elderly and children are not included in my wrath.)

7.   I experience strong food cravings.  Right now it's the avocado rolls from The Cheescake Factory; they are REALLY GOOD!

8.   I want a bumper sticker that says,  "ARE YOU DRUNK OR ON YOU CELL PHONE?"

9.    Cell phone use has gotten out of hand.  NOBODY needs to be walking through stores, in public places talking on the phone.  It's just rude and repulsive.  Besides that, I don't have an opinion.

10.  I miss walking into a classroom with a smile on my face, and quieting 34 teenagers without my having to say a word. :)

11.  You will NEVER see me shopping on Black Friday or getting up in the middle of the night to attend a sale.

People I think are great bloggers (actually, all the blogs I read are great, or I wouldn't be reading them):

Rick -- his blog is chock full of great stuff about pets, Palm Springs, art, and celebrities.
Gilly --  she hails from GB; features a healthy, happy slant on things, and takes great photos.
TAG -- does "Way Back Wednesdays" and has a wry sense of humor and a strong family ethic.
The Therapist Mumbles   --  very interesting foray into the world of a practicing psychologist.
Jane --  a fellow Philly girl, Jane lives in Spain (no, I'm not rhyming purposely), is funny, and a talented photographer.

Aw shucks, Kathy, thanks for the plug! And I was about to say I don't usually go to midnight madness sales on black Friday then I remembered that I have done it FOR FOUR YEARS IN A ROW. WHAT"S THE MATTER WITH ME?

Thanks for the mention, and the note that you gave me a mention.

I received my Ph.D. at Temple University a long time ago. I have many fond memories of Philly.
the place seems much improved now.

1. There have been many studies that have shown that the ideal workday would be something like 10 am til 7 pm or even noon til 9 or something like that. I think that's probably true for most people. If we were allowed to just wake up naturally without an alarm blaring in our ear, we would probably be happier and more productive.

6. That's okay. I yell at all kids and old people for you. ;-)

11. Me too. Probably. I mean, I never have, but I might someday.

I am overcome with honoured blushes!!

And I do tend to stand and stare at things in the supermarkets. Generallhy I am trying to readjust my menu plans, but otherwise you can put it down to old age!!

Number 9 is my favorite. I have a real problem with people with a cell phone stuck to their ear. When I worked at the bank, I would refuse to assist anyone until they got off their phone.

3, 5 and 6 are my favorites. One of these days I'm going to make my own list.

Happy day my friend!

Great information. You and I have similar dislikes and likes.
I refuse to go shopping on black Friday. I hate shopping. Why torture myself.
I just want a bumper sticker that says "GET OFF THE F&*^ING PHONE". What did we ever do without them. I throw mine in the bottom of the purse and leave it there. I just am not that important. And I don't hear it on the bike. Leave a message. I return them.

I pull up beside people who cut me off on the bike who are on the phone and stare at them and rev my pipes ( loud). They can't hear who is talking to them. ;-}

I always smile at everyone. Why not. Life is just to short to be miserable.

Have a fun day.

I can't tell you how many times I've had to hold myself back from "accidently" ramming someone in the store with my cart...get a clue! And don't even get me started on the whole cell phone thing.

Other than that...everyone gets a big happy smile! Fun list!

That's a great list. I love that you tell off the people standing in the aisle. I wish I had that courage. Not that I'm down on myself!

Great facts about you! I, too, avoid the stores on Black Friday, always have, always will! And you are sooo right about cell phones, there was a time when we lived quite well without them!

Interesting little tid-bits about you. Thanks for sharing and for your honesty!

Re #9, I totally agree and I'm so glad that we have finally made it against the law in Ontario to operate a motor vehicle while using a cell phone. Hands free only or fines!
