A Bane, A Boon, and a Red Band Aid

Been doing a lot of putzing around the yard.  I move pots, then move them again, chase the #*&^  bunnies, stake the tomatoes, dead head, water, weed, and I do a lot of staring.  I find the lushness mesmerizing, and while the varmints are the bane of my existence; the garden is a boon and such a salve for the soul.

Today I went to have blood drawn.  I had walked into a local lab yesterday and by the size of the crowd thought maybe they were giving away Happy Meals.  The receptionist mentioned I could make an appointment online and I came home and did so, learning of  a drawing station within a mile of our house.  This morning, as soon as I sat down, I noticed the box of crayon band aids and asked the phlebotomist if I could have one.  She said those are for the crying, screaming babies.   When I  assured her I could accommodate, she reached for the pack.  I got a red one.

Good for you. Anything to make a blood draw more pleasant.

Sounds like your gardening is going well. I know bunny rabbits aren't welcome but they're so cute.

I would have held out for a Happy Meal.

Have a victorious day Kathy!

You made me chuckle with the thought of screaming and holloring for the sake of a pretty red bandaid. A girl does have her priorites after all!

I would be staring at your yard too, it is so pretty.
I'm glad you got your band aid! :-)

You have a great sense of humor. We have a Lab Corp near my house, and I found it's easier to make the app't. online than it is to show up. They also have a big assortment of band-aids for the little ones who cry. I laughed out loud when I heard you could accommodate. :)

I'm sorry your Knock Out roses are not what you expected. I feel badly because I told you about the Rainbow ones. I hope they do something for you this summer, and not die.

I think anyone who has their blood drawn should at least get a red bandaid.
I'm sure your garden is beautiful and that it provides many hours of work and enjoyment (and food for the bunnies).

Some of us really have to go through a lot to get a neat bandage! I can sympathize with you as far as the #*&^ critters are concerned!

I love bandaids like that. Bravo to you for being prepared to kick your heels on the floor a bit.
